Bringing Home the Gold

AMI

Each year, the Association of Medical Illustrators (or AMI) brings together the leaders in visual medical communications for a four-day conference. The conference is an excellent opportunity for Nucleus’s medical animators to mingle with like-minded professionals, listen to amazing keynote speakers, and get inspired – and it’s also a chance to show off our skills.

contest winnersThe AMI Salon Exhibit is all about experiencing “the power of visual storytelling to illuminate medical discoveries and empower patient health.” And that’s what we excel at. Nucleus animators brought home four awards in three categories this year. Time for a little bragging:

The video Robotic Myomectomy received the Award of Merit in the “Animation: Didactic/Instructional, Non-Commercial” category. The amazing animators and writers that worked on it included our very own Nobles Green, Eric Small, Kelvin Li, Mary Beth Clough, Mike Gleason, and Ron Collins.

Next up, the video Plasmajet received the Award of Excellence in the “Animation: Didactic/Instructional, Commercial” category. The amazing animators and writers that were involved with this project were Kelvin Li, Elizabeth McDonald, and Leslie Leonard.

Lastly, we received TWO awards in the “Animation: Advertising and Marketing/Promotional” category! The BD Vystra Disposable Pen video received the Award of Excellence and Custom Animated Patient Education: Mitral Valve Prolapse received the Award of Merit. The BD Vystra team included Elizabeth McDonald, Erin Frederikson, and Eric Small. The Mitral Valve animation was a collaboration between Nucleus employees Eric Small, Mary Beth Clough, Mike Gleason, Stephen Boyd, Ron Collins, and Walid Aziz and ShareWIK employees Allie Lemco, Christian Driver, Diana Keough, Joshua Schlabach, and Randolph Martin.

All the award winners will be posted to the AMI website soon for your viewing pleasure. Congrats, guys!
